CEEC’s initiatives are standing platforms for collaboration, knowledge and practical impact in a priority domain. Each is guided by its own Industry Advisory Group and delivers across three pillars. Projects sit inside and across them, with their own front door under Projects.
Water, Tailings, Energy and Emissions
Global Water Initiative
A collaborative strategy to tackle water-related challenges in resource extraction, treating interdisciplinary collaboration as essential to addressing scarcity, excess, contamination and quality.
Launched 2023 at MetPlant. Three projects run under it, organised around the initiative’s Water Wheel themes.
Global Tailings Initiative
Exploring how upstream flowsheet decisions shape tailings characteristics, deposition and long-term landform outcomes.
Adelaide ran March 2026 ahead of MetPlant; Santiago follows in September. Outputs feed a summary report and a CEEC white paper.
Energy and Emissions
Process-side energy demand and emissions intensity: lifecycle visibility, operational optimisation and transformational change in how energy moves through the flowsheet.
Anchored by the Energy Curves benchmarking tool as CEEC’s strategy extends across water, tailings, energy and technology readiness.
One Tag, Many Doors
A water publication appears on the water initiative page, on its project page, and in the Knowledge Centre, all from one tag. Nothing is filed twice.
