Active
Global Water Initiative
A collaborative strategy to tackle water-related challenges in resource extraction, treating interdisciplinary collaboration as essential to addressing scarcity, excess, contamination and quality.
Launched 2023 at MetPlant. Three projects run under it, organised around the initiative’s Water Wheel themes.

Exploring how upstream flowsheet decisions shape tailings characteristics, deposition and long-term landform outcomes.
Adelaide ran March 2026 ahead of MetPlant; Santiago follows in September. Outputs feed a summary report and a CEEC white paper.

Collaboration
Convene the right people around the right problems, through workshops, forums and targeted meetings that enable co-learning and cross-disciplinary exchange.
Impact
Develop practical projects, benchmarks, case studies and frameworks that address priority gaps and help the industry improve performance over time.
